Santhi Soundarajan is an Indian track and field athlete who specializes in middle-distance running. She was born on April 25, 1981, in Tamil Nadu, India. Soundarajan rose to fame when she won the silver medal in the 800 meters event at the 2006 Asian Games.
However, her career took a controversial turn when she failed a gender verification test following her Asian Games success. As a result, she was stripped of her medal and banned from competing in women's events by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).
